It's done...

The itinerary for the scrapbooking retreat for this year is ready!
& here it is...

Day 1 (05 October)     Melbourne - Hanoi
Meet at Tullamarine airport. Fly into Saigon airport, and catch connecting flight to Hanoi.
We will be met by a driver and transferred to our hotel.
Free time for remainder of day.
Dinner is of your own choice.
Stay overnight at the 4-star Maison De Hanoi hotel.

Day 2 (06 October)
     Hanoi sightseeing (B, L, D)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
After breakfast, we are picked up for our sightseeing.
We will visit the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we continue our sightseeing with a visit to Hoan Kem Lake, and the Ngoc Son Temple.
Dinner is served at a local restaurant.
After dinner, we will visit the famous Water Puppet show, a theatrical genre reflecting the
agriculture civilization of thousands of years ago.
Stay overnight at the 4-star Maison De Hanoi hotel.

Day 3 (07 October)     Hanoi (B)Breakfast is served at the hotel.
Today is a free day for you to do as you wish.
Lunch and dinner are of your own choice.

Day 4 (08 October)     Hanoi - Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
After breakfast, we will be picked up at our hotel and make our way to Ha Long Bay.
We will board the Pelican Luxury Cruise, and cruise through the beautiful waters
while lunch is served on board.
We will visit Sung Sot Grotto, the "Cave of Surprises", before taking a swim in the pristine waters.
The vessel will then cruise to it's overnight anchorage location.
Enjoy the sunset from the sundeck or while swimming.
Dinner will be served on board.

Stay overnight on the Pelican Cruise.

Day 5 (09 October)     Ha Long Bay - Hanoi - Danang (B, L)
Wake up on board to stunning scenery.
Breakfast is served on board.
A smaller boat will then take us to visit Luon Cave.
Back on board the Pelican, lunch is served.
We disembark after lunch, and will be transferred to Hanoi airport for our flight to Danang.
Upon arrival, we will be met by a driver for transfer to Hoi An, and our hotel.
Remainder of the day is free.
Dinner is of your own choice.

Day 6 (10 October)     Hoi An sightseeing (B, L)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
We will be picked up by a driver, and then go to Marble Mountain, a series of large marble outcrops that have acquired mythical significance over the centuries.
There are a number of sacred Buddhist shrines in the caves.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we take a walking tour of Hoi An.
Remainder of day is free.
Dinner is of your own choice.
Stay overnight at the 4-star Hoi An Riverside Resort & Spa.

Day 7 (11 October)
     Hoi An (B, L)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
This morning we take part in a hands-on cooking class at the well known
Red Bridge Cooking School.
We start the day at 8:15 at our meeting point with a drink.
We then visit the Hoi An food market, and experience the sights, sounds and aromas. 
We will learn about some of the amazing foods on display, and purchase some of the
ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.
We board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise  along the Hoi An river to the
Red Bridge Cooking School.
On arrival, we explore the cooking schools herb and vegetable garden, before
learning about some of Hoi An's and Vietnams well known dishes.
The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours, each dish is first demonstrated by the chefs,
before we prepare the same dish ourselves.
After the lesson, we sit down and eat what we have prepared.
We finish up about 1:30.

Day 8 (12 October)     Hoi An (B, D)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
Free day in Hoi An.
Lunch is of your own choice.
Dinner is at a local restaurant.

Day 9 (13 October)     Hoi An (B)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
Free day in Hoi An.
Lunch is of your own choice.
Dinner is of your own choice.

Day 10 (14 October)     Hoi An - Saigon (B, L)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
We will be picked up and transferred to Danang airport for our flight to Saigon.
Upon arrival, we will be transferred to our hotel for check in.
From the hotel we take a sight seeing tour of Saigon's famous and historic city landmarks.
Ho Chi Minh Square, Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace (formerly the Presidential Palace), and the War Remnants Museum.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
Dinner is of your own choice.
Stay overnight at a hotel to be confirmed.

Day 11 (15 October)     Saigon (B, D)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
Free day in Saigon.
Lunch is of your own choice.
Dinner is at a local restaurant.

Stay overnight at a hotel to be confirmed.

Day 12 (16 October)     Saigon - Melbourne/Siem Reap (B)
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
Free day in Saigon.
Lunch is of your own choice.

**Those heading back to Australia will be transferred to the airport tonight for the flight home**
**Those heading to Siem Reap will be transferred to the airport at the same time for the flight**

Day 12 (16 October)      continuation: Saigon - Siem Reap
From Saigon we fly to Siem Reap, where we are picked up and transferred to our hotel.
Dinner is of your own choice.
Stay overnight at the 4-star Prince D'Angkor Hotel.

Day 13 (17 October) 
    Siem Reap (B, L) 
Breakfast is served at your hotel.
We will be picked up, and go onto the Phnom Kulen Waterfall. 
A picnic lunch will be served by the waterfall.
After lunch, we travel onto the Banteay Srei Temple. 
Dinner is of your own choice.
Stay overnight at the 4-star Prince D'Angkor Hotel.

Day 14 (18 October)     Siem Reap (B, L)
 Breakfast is served at your hotel.
Today we visit Angkor Thom which includes:
South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, Terrace of the Elephant,
Terrace of the Leper King, Former Royal Palace, Ta Prum Temple.
Lunch is at a local restaurant.
We then go on to visit Angkor Wat, one of the 7 wonders of the world.
We will watch the sunset at the Phnom Bakheng Hill.
Dinner is of your own choice.
Stay overnight at the 4-star Prince D'Angkor Hotel.

Day 15 (19 October)     Siem Reap (B, D)
Breakfast is served at your hotel.
Free day in Siem Reap.
Lunch is of your own choice.
Dinner is served at a local restaurant.
Stay overnight at the 4-star Prince D'Angkor Hotel.

 Day 16 (20 October)     Siem Reap - Saigon - Melbourne
Breakfast is served at your hotel.
You will have free time until it is time to be picked up and transferred
to the airport for our flight home.
We fly to Saigon, then catch a connecting flight back to Melbourne.
