New project...

Someone gave me this largish canvas that was painted in loud, garish colours
and asked me to give it a face lift with souvenirs she picked up in Venice.
What do I do with it?
Made me scratch my head a little, but I decided to start work on it whilst I was at the expo over the weekend.

 

I bought hand made paper at the show and glued them over the paint.
Next, I grabbed a stencil that hubby cut for me, and started applying the pattern
on top of the paper with a distress paint in a great green colour.

Now, basically I'm making it up as I go along here.
Not sure how it will end up, but so far so good...

Cut out a frame for some of the pics, which needed to be cut down to size.
Took some black cardstock, embossed it, and punched the edges into a lace pattern.
I'm trying to keep in mind the elements that mean Venice to me, and incorporate
some of those into the canva.
