I really really lurve Venice...

I had no idea that the Bridge of Sighs was a bridge (der!) between the Dukes Palace and a prison?
Now I know!

Words engraved into the window ledge, most probably by some prisoners.
The smallish round hole was where prisoners accepted food that was brought in by family.
They had to rely on family/friends to feed them...

Details on the church...

The winged lion in the middle photo is the symbol of Venice.

*juicy, ripe, ready to eat persimmons
*intricate mask
*small, red artichokes
