|The quaint island of Burano, about 30 minutes by boat from Venice is a must to visit.|
|The story goes that the houses are painted different colours so that the fishermen coming|
home after a trip, and probably having had too much to drink, would be able
to easily recognise their own home!

How lovely to walk through and seeing lacework that is hundreds of years old.
Would love to know the stories behind the pieces...
|There were lots of fans, and all in different lace designs.|
Some had the aged, brown look about them, that evoke romantic thoughts about
who may have used these fans...
|Perhaps some lady coyly peeking out over the top at some gentleman...|

You can imagine it just hanging around the neck of some lady, and it moving
as she walked along.
