Stuff around Paris...

Start of christmas at the Lafayette Galleries store.
Cool looking get around vehicle.

Quiches that look fabulous for lunch and berry tart.
The french pigeons enjoy leftovers.

A vintage car turned into a crepe business.
Some of the art to be found on the streets of Paris.

Ornate features everywhere you look...

The famous Arc...

Fabulous view from any angle up here...

Photo number 3 is a view of the spiral staircase in the Arc de Triomphe.
I took a photo of the spiral going up, but I hung the camera over the edge.
Too steep & scary for me to hang over!

Wow...

Just a lazy sunday afternoon in Paris.
Not sure what the cause was, but literally hundreds of roller bladers stopping traffic.
Even the police joined in, on roller blades!

Something unusual...but magical...

In front of the Eiffel Tower there is a display of "Buddy Bears".
Quite unexpected.
Quite surprisingly cute.
Each country is represented by one bear, and individually painted.
Of course, the Australian bear stood out straight away as it had
been decorated by the iconic Ken Done.
Hard to miss...

1. the French bear
2. the Italian bear
3. bare bear bums all in a row...

(very) Grand Palace of Versaille...

In the metro, waiting for the train out to Versaille.
My first glimpse of the palace is breath taking...

The lord and master of the "house".

Lots of shiny gilt...

We saw the long line of people waiting to buy tickets, so decided to go for a coffee first.
Good choice.
Coffee and pear tart...

Lots of family portraits around the place...

That fire place is huge.
Those logs are actually trees!
Small entrance, one of the bedrooms.

The Hall of Mirrors...

Marie's bedroom.
The piece of furniture in the middle photo was her jewelley cabinet.
No kidding...
Very ornate but beautiful bed canopy.

Flea market (2)...

Feather beauty, astoundingly beautiful vintage clothing, shabby furniture.

Little french misses in all their finery.

Giant skulls made from animal jaw bones!
I kid you not...

Saw this man patiently repairing an antique rug.
He told us it would probably take him one year to fix it, and it would sell for about 30,000.00 euros.
Stunning work.
I loved the look of the jumpled pile of threads next to him...

& next, Paris...

The view from my room in Venice.
Not too shabby I think...

Food in Paris.
Delicious of course.
*one of my faves, citron tart
*buckwheat fromage crepe
*flan, simple but sooooo yummy

I have been wanting to go to the Paris flea markets for soooo long, and I finally made it!
It was cold baby, as you can probably tell by what I'm wearing, which was layers & layers
of what I had available.
I tried to keep warm by indulging in a nutella crepe.
It certainly hit the spot...

So much fabulous stuff for my eyes to see.
Sensory overload...
Vintage laces, plates, cutlery etc etc etc.

And the unusual stuff as well.
Beautiful beaded flowers, vintage photos with beaded moustaches!

Lots more unusual & quirky stuff.
Made me smile...
